Eccleston Amber v Gillibrand Warriors Match Report

After a winning performance last week against Lostock, this was an opportunity for Amber to push on. Push on they did, with arguably their best performance of the season.

Team [James, Jack, Henry, Matthew, Lucas, Lincoln, Ryan, Zak, Joseph]

In the first half Eccleston had most of the possession as Henry and Matthew made sure the defence snuffed out any attack, with James seeing very little of the ball.  Zak was winning all the loose balls in midfield and Lincoln, Lucas and Ryan applied all the pressure up front. It was no surprise's then at half time that Eccleston went in leading with some great goals being scored from good flowing football.

In the second half,  changes were made, Jack replaced Matthew in defence, and Eccleston looked to add to the tally. The game continued as per the first half, but Eccleston this time converted  most of their chances. Warriors did manage to score pass James, but not before he made two fine saves. Eccleston were always in control and it allowed players  to be swapped into different positions. Matthew came back on and flourished in Midfield with Zak lookeding very accomplished in the middle. However the game was controlled Ryan whose intelligent play either created chances for others or himself. Lucas and Lincoln were on top form and never gave Gillibrand an oppertunity to get into the game. Jack playing in defence for the first time was putting in a tremendous shift and made sue that Gillibrands never threatend on goal.

The parents and managers man of the match were Ryan and Jack respectively.  Well done to all in what was a great team performance.
